That split is genuinely useful, because it means the model will happily draw a small space as an enclosed one and will not draw it as a cramped one, and only the second half of that is what you needed to know.
Naming the surface stopped fixing shadows
On the breakfast nook page, naming the exact surface a shadow had to fall on produced real cast shadows for the first time. Fall, and where the water goes
About one inch of fall in every four to eight feet, roughly a one to two percent slope, running away from the building in every case.
